A 30-minute virtual visit with Jennifer, Nurse Practitioner, focused on menopause and perimenopause: your symptoms, your health history, and whether hormone therapy (MHT/HRT) or other options are appropriate for you. You’ll leave with a clear plan, which may include prescriptions, lab work, and follow-up.
Benefits
- A full, unhurried conversation about symptoms many patients feel are dismissed
- Evidence-based discussion of hormone therapy — benefits, risks, and alternatives
- Prescriptions arranged when appropriate, sent to your pharmacy
- Lab investigations ordered when needed
- A follow-up plan rather than a one-off chat
Who it’s for
Women in perimenopause or menopause experiencing symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, sleep disruption, mood changes, brain fog, or genitourinary symptoms — and anyone wanting a knowledgeable review of whether hormone therapy suits them. You must be located in Ontario, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, or Prince Edward Island at the time of the visit.
What to expect
Before the visit, you’ll complete intake forms covering your symptoms, cycle history, personal and family health history, and medications. During the 30-minute video visit, Jennifer reviews everything with you, explains options in plain language, and agrees a plan with you. Prescriptions and lab requisitions are sent electronically where appropriate.
Recommended sessions
A follow-up plan rather than a one-off chat; symptom response to any therapy is reviewed at follow-up.
Before & after your visit
- Before: Complete your intake forms honestly and have your medication list and pharmacy details handy.
- After: Follow the plan agreed — this may include starting medication, booking labs, or a follow-up visit to review results.
- Downtime: None — virtual visit.
- Results: Symptom response to any therapy is reviewed at follow-up; hormone therapy effects build over weeks.
- Need-to-knows / risks: Hormone therapy is not right for everyone — a history of certain cancers, blood clots, stroke, or liver disease affects eligibility and will be carefully screened. Mammogram and screening status may be reviewed. Virtual care has limits: if your situation needs a physical examination, Jennifer will direct you to in-person care.
Frequently asked questions
Can you prescribe hormone therapy virtually?
Yes, when clinically appropriate after assessment — prescriptions go to your pharmacy.
I’m not sure I’m in menopause — can I still book?
Absolutely; working that out is part of the visit.
Do I need blood tests first?
Not always; Jennifer will order labs if your situation calls for them.
Which provinces can you see me in?
You must be physically located in ON, BC, SK, or PEI during the visit.
Is this covered by provincial health insurance?
Diamond’s virtual visits are private-pay; you’ll receive a receipt, and some extended health plans cover NP services — check with your insurer.
