A confidential 15-minute virtual visit for sexually transmitted infection concerns: symptoms, a possible exposure, routine screening, or treatment questions. Jennifer will arrange the right lab testing and, where appropriate, treatment — discreetly and without judgement.
Benefits
- Confidential, judgement-free care
- Correct testing ordered (not every exposure needs the same tests)
- Treatment prescribed when indicated
- Partner-notification guidance explained clearly
- Follow-up and retesting advice included in the plan
Who it’s for
Anyone who has had a possible exposure, has symptoms, has a partner who tested positive, or wants routine screening. You must be located in Ontario, British Columbia, Saskatchewan, or Prince Edward Island at the time of the visit. Severe symptoms (pelvic pain, fever, testicular pain) need in-person assessment.
What to expect
In the visit, you’ll discuss (confidentially) the exposure or symptoms and timing — timing matters, because testing too early can miss infections. You’ll receive lab requisitions to take to a lab near you, and a plan for results: how you’ll be contacted, what treatment would involve, and whether partners need testing/treatment too.
Recommended sessions
Lab-dependent — typically days; positive results are followed up with treatment and partner guidance.
Before & after your visit
- Before: Note the date(s) of possible exposure and any symptoms — accuracy improves your testing plan. Testing windows differ by infection.
- After: Complete your labs promptly; abstain from sexual contact until results/treatment are sorted if advised.
- Downtime: None — virtual visit; lab visit required in person.
- Results: Lab-dependent — typically days; positive results are followed up with treatment and partner guidance.
- Need-to-knows: Some infections are reportable to public health by law, and certain results require in-person treatment (for example, injections). HIV prevention after a high-risk exposure (PEP) is time-critical — within 72 hours — and should go through emergency/urgent care, not a booked virtual visit.
Frequently asked questions
Will anyone find out?
Your visit is confidential medical care. Legally reportable infections are reported to public health as required by law, which is standard everywhere in Canada.
Can I just get tested without symptoms?
Yes — routine screening is a normal, sensible reason to book.
How soon after an exposure can I test?
It depends on the infection; testing too early can give false reassurance, so the visit plans timing properly.
Can treatment be prescribed virtually?
For many infections, yes, once results confirm; some need an in-person injection, which will be arranged.
Which provinces?
You must be located in ON, BC, SK, or PEI at the time of the visit.
